On March 10, GIKEN LTD. (Head Office: Kochi-shi, President: Atsushi Ohira) and its group company GIKEN SEKO CO., LTD. (Head Office: Kochi-shi, President: Akihiro Nishigawa) received certification as companies implementing excellent KENKO Investment for Health, and have been recognised as “2025 Outstanding Organizations of KENKO Investment for Health”*1. The recognition programme is jointly administered annually by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan and the Nippon Kenko Kaigi. GIKEN has been recognised for the fourth year in a row, and GIKEN SEKO has been recognised for the third year in a row. GIKEN SEKO was also selected for the newly established “Next Bright 1000”*2.
Our group has established its own "Declaration of KENKO Investment for Health" and "Philosophy of KENKO Investment for Health". We are working to promote employee health maintenance and work-life balance under a promotion system supervised by top management. Last year, we reviewed our internal health check system, allowing employees to receive cancer screening and secondary examinations (detailed examinations) during working hours. We also introduced a system to subsidise the cost of secondary examinations. In addition, we introduced a system to build more employee dormitories and subsidise the costs of company events such as social gatherings in order to promote mental health care and communication among employees. We are also promoting a wide range of health-related initiatives to improve health literacy, such as holding meetings to exchange opinions with companies in the prefecture and setting up opportunities for learning and discussion within the company. We are verifying the effectiveness of these measures based on the “Map of KENKO Investment for Health” and will use the results to increase health awareness and improve the workplace environment going forward.
The physical and mental health of employees is the foundation of corporate management, individual performance, and above all, the happiness of every employee. We will continue to create an environment in which employees can work in good health, including reviewing internal systems in line with recent trends and changing needs.
