As part of the head office rebuilding project of the Shikoku Bank, Ltd. (Head Office: Kochi-shi; President: Tatsuji Kobayashi), the automated bicycle parking facility ECO Cycle™ (aboveground model; capacity of 50 bicycles) developed by GIKEN LTD. (Head Office: Kochi-shi; President & CEO: Atsushi Ohira) has been completed and began operations on May 18.
Featuring a modern design that complements the overall rebuilding concept, one side of the structure is entirely glass-enclosed to showcase its illuminated appearance from the street where streetcars run. Additionally, with a minimum time of just 10 seconds required for the storage and retrieval of a single bicycle, the iconic bicycle parking facility combines design and functionality. This marks the 64th ECO Cycle™ unit installed at 27 locations nationwide. This is the seventh aboveground model installed, and the third location for the aboveground model.
On May 7, a completion ceremony was held on-site to celebrate the project’s completion. President Kobayashi delivered a congratulatory address, stating, “A magnificent building that stands out prominently has been completed here at Harimaya Bridge, the heart of Kochi. I hope it will become a familiar presence not only to our employees but also to passersby.”
We will continue to promote the widespread adoption of ECO Cycle™—which can be freely installed to complement urban design—across various regions, contributing to the creation of sustainable, safe, secure, and comfortable communities.
For details on the background to the installation of ECO Cycle™ and the reasons for its adoption, please refer to the press release dated December 4, 2025.

■Background of the installation
As part of the head office rebuilding project of the Shikoku Bank, Ltd., one of the key concepts was to create an office environment that promotes employee wellbeing. To this end, ECO Cycle™ was adopted as an employee bicycle parking facility designed to ensure smooth access even during morning and evening rush hours. Construction on the building began last autumn, and since February of this year, our company has been installing the internal machinery, including pallets for holding bicycles and transport equipment.
The ECO Cycle™ installed for this project features a design that was upgraded in 2023, accommodating a wider range of bicycle specifications. As a result, it can now accommodate bicycles equipped with child seats and those with wider baskets.
