ECO Cycle™ Facilities Open at South Entrance of Shinkoiwa Station

First Facilities in Tokyo’s Katsushika-ku

2022.10.28 NEWS RELEASE

GIKEN LTD. (Head Office: Kochi-shi, Kochi; President: Shinnosuke Moribe; hereafter “GIKEN”) has completed construction of two underground ECO Cycle™ facilities within the Komatsuna children’s playground in the Shinkoiwa 2-chome district of Tokyo’s Katsushika-ku. Opened on September 1, the mechanical bicycle parking facilities, accommodating a total of 408 bicycles, are operated by the city. These are also the first ECO Cycle™ facilities constructed in the city.

■New Entrance/Exit Booth Shape Softens External Appearance

With the ECO Cycle™ facilities located in a park within a privately developed area surrounded by condominiums, the proposal this time was for a design that added a bit of color to the daily lives of residents. The new entrance/exit booth shape has a curved rear surface that gives it a softer external appearance and allows it to blend seamlessly into a place of recreation and relaxation.

The following news release dated December 23, 2020, explains the reasons behind the installation and adoption of ECO Cycle™.
