GIKEN LTD. (Head Office: Kochi-shi, Kochi; President and CEO: Atsushi Ohira) has formed a collaboration with Fuji Silvertech Concrete Private Limited (FSCPL), a major precast concrete products manufacturer and solution provider in India, to expand business in India market. The strengths of the two companies—the local channels of FSCPL and the superiorities of the press-in technologies of GIKEN—will be fused to propose construction solutions from the design stages of projects.
India is currently pushing the building of ports, sewers, roads, railways, and other infrastructure as a national priority. At approximately 11.2 trillion rupees (approximately 20 trillion yen), infrastructure-related expenditure in India's FY2025 budget has reached its highest level ever. Against a backdrop of such vibrant demand, GIKEN is focusing on the potential of press-in technologies in India. As urbanisation progresses and the construction environment becomes more sophisticated, there are many construction sites with more work constrains such as vibration-free and noise-free solutions at limited work space.
The head office of FSCPL is located in Ahmedabad in the state of Gujarat, India, and in July, GIKEN opened a contact office in the same city. GIKEN is partnering closely with FSCPL to conduct market surveys while understanding the local market trends in real time. Going forwards, GIKEN will provide innovative solutions that support thriving regional economies and the realisation of a sustainable society. At the same time, GIKEN will also seek to create new projects in unserved regions, further spread the adoption of the company's technologies, and steadily expand its business.

■Potential of Press-in Technologies in the Gigantic Market of India
India's government has stated that the country's vision for 2047, a century after its independence, is to emerge as a fully developed, globally influential nation—Viksit Bharat. The country is working full-scale towards strengthening its economic and social infrastructure. To develop ports, sewers, and other infrastructure at a fast pace, it is also encouraging the entry of foreign companies, centred on those in the manufacturing industry. In addition, urbanisation is progressing and the population is increasing, and there are more sites that face limitations in construction space and are required to reduce environmental impact. Amid such circumstances, press-in technologies—which can rapidly build resilient infrastructure while saving space and limiting vibrations and noise—are gaining attention as innovative solutions that clear site limitations which are otherwise difficult for other construction methods. There are growing expectations towards further market expansion in the future.
■ Collaboration with Local Company to Enhance Construction Solution Proposals
On July 3, GIKEN signed an agreement with FSCPL, a major precast concrete product manufacturer in India. In installation works of FSCPL’s products, such as box culverts and drains, requires temporary earth retaining walls. However, during the construction, especially in India's major metropolitan areas that are rapidly urbanising, there are issues at vibration sensitive and noise sensitive locations as well as place with space constrains. Press-in technologies allow construction even in places with limited space, urban areas requiring consideration for the surrounding environment, and densely populated areas. Going forwards, technology proposals using the strengths of GIKEN and FSCPL will be made from the design stages of construction projects to further penetrate India's market.
