GIKEN LTD. has been selected as the naming rights partner for the athletic stadium at the Kochi Athletic Recreation Park, located in Harunocho-Yoshihara, Kochi-shi, for which the prefectural government had been inviting applications for partnership. The new nickname for the stadium is "GIKEN Stadium."
This facility is an IAAF Class II certified and JAAF (Japan Association of Athletics Federations) Class I certified track and field stadium, and is capable of hosting large-scale sporting events such as the Japanese National Championships and international competitions. In addition to the seating capacity of 25,000 spectators, the stadium has large video equipment and nighttime lighting facilities. It is the home stadium of Kochi United SC which managed to start playing in the J3 League this season. It is also widely known as the finish line of the Kochi Ryoma Marathon event held every February.
GIKEN applied for the naming rights partnership because it agreed with Kochi prefecture's policy of maintaining and improving prefectural services to citizens through stable facility management and enhancement of prefectural policies and measures. The stadium newly nicknamed after our company will hopefully help us make the general public more interested in our technologies and business activities. GIKEN also hopes that people in and out of the prefecture will get to know our company better.
Thus, GIKEN is committed to supporting the continued development of Kochi prefecture's athletic events and actively contributing to further advancement of the prefecture.
