Giken America Corporation (Head Office: Orlando, Florida; Director President: Takefumi Takuma), a group company of GIKEN LTD. (Head Office: Kochi-shi, Kochi; President and CEO: Atsushi Ohira), has commenced rental of GYRO PILER™ F401-G1200—a rotary cutting press-in machine for tubular piles—in the United States.
The Gyropress Method™, which uses GYRO PILER™, can carry out vibration-free, noise-free, and space-saving construction of highly rigid, continuous pile walls using tubular piles, even in conditions where the ground is hard or has underground obstacles. This method has already been adopted in more than 1,000 projects in Japan and is steadily gaining traction overseas. However, the method has yet to be used in North America. With the launch of this rental service, actual machines can now be promptly provided in North America, attracting attention as a new option for infrastructure development and other purposes in urban areas.
GIKEN has strategically built the foundation for expansion in North America, including the launch of GTOSS™ North America—a service that gives comprehensive support to users of press-in machines—last year and the opening of a sales office in the state of New Jersey in January this year. Currently, the adoption of press-in technologies is making smooth progress in places such as the states of New York, Florida, California, and Louisiana.
Both the U.S. federal government and state governments continue to allocate tens of billions of dollars annually toward the renovation of aging roads and bridges. While the current administration is moving to reduce federal spending, demand for public investment in the repair and enhancement of existing infrastructure is expected to grow. Against this backdrop, GIKEN will continue to deepen collaboration with local partners and roll out solutions that contribute to the realisation of a sustainable society. These efforts will foster the creation of new projects and further promote adoption of the company’s technologies across North America.

Providing technical guidance to a local partner using GYRO PILER™ deployed in the United States
■Gyropress Method™ Using GYRO PILER™
This method constructs a robust and resilient Implant™ Structure via rotary press-in of tubular piles fitted with ripping bits called "ring bits" at their tips, penetrating existing structures and hard ground. As the method can penetrate existing structures, there is no need to remove buried objects, and pre-excavation using excavators is unnecessary, thus reducing construction time and costs. Furthermore, as the lightweight and compact GYRO PILER™ firmly grips already installed piles, there is no risk of falling over in principle, and construction can be carried out whilst suppressing vibration and noise, eliminating concerns about adverse effects on the surrounding environment.

Currently, this method is gaining interest from consulting companies and other construction-related parties as an innovative option in place of conventional methods, especially for the development of infrastructure in urban areas such as the suburbs of New York.
■Commencing Rental to Allow Prompt Provision of Actual Machines
GIKEN has deployed GYRO PILER™ F401-G1200 as rental machines and started offering them to members of GTOSS™ North America. Besides equipment rental, support for construction and maintenance will also be given to improve site productivity.
The local availability of actual machines is an important deciding factor in the adoption of technical proposals. This equipment deployment allows prompt provision, lowering the hurdle for adoption decisions. It is expected to lead to more projects.
■Encouraging Adoption with Local Partners

Launched in June 2024, so far, three companies have joined as members of GTOSS™ North America. Among them, Blue Iron Foundations & Shoring, LLC has already proposed the Gyropress™ Method for the construction of a retaining wall in the southeastern United States and secured an order. To ensure smooth implementation of the method and construction quality, technical guidance was provided in advance to Blue Iron Foundations & Shoring in its yard and it was also provided with an opportunity for on-site visit in Japan. GIKEN will continue to closely collaborate with members of GTOSS™ North America and, as a partner that can be trusted, strive together with them to encourage the adoption of press-in technologies in North America.
■Profile of GIKEN Group
GIKEN developed the SILENT PILER™, the world’s first reaction-based, non-vibratory hydraulic pile driving machine that operates with minimal noise impacts. The GIKEN Group now actively promotes its press-in technology worldwide and contributes to the construction industry by proposing and implementing innovative solutions. The innovative press-in technology provides a unique solution and the adoption of this technology has spread to over 40 nations and regions.
